-
but you can’t think of what, so you don’t write at all.
-
but you don’t know who in the world would want to read it.
-
but are you any good?
You want to write so much sometimes your typing arms ache just thinking about it. You’ve got that great idea for an essay, or a blog post, or a business pitch. But somehow whenever you sit down to write it, nothing happens.
How do I know? Oh, honey, I’ve been there myself.
I know how to help you build the self-confidence you need to find the ideas, find the words, find your voice as a writer.
This summer, join me in a revolutionary new program:
Permission to Write gives you the support and accountability you need to get your writing done, one day at a time.
- Flexible program structure allows you to fit your writing into your schedule
- Two group calls
- Up to six sessions of one-on-one private coaching
- Private Facebook page
- Weekly writing prompts
Most importantly, you will write. You will confront your demons, unblock your blocks and you will get what you want most: Permission to Write.
Why work with The Shy Writers’ Coach™?
I know how it can feel to put your writing in someone else’s hands. Even today, after writing professionally for over 25 years, I can still feel uncomfortable—even a little vulnerable—sharing my work. But I also know that I need to write. And I need to share my work with others because you can’t grow as a writer unless you let people read what you’ve written.
I’m also an award-winning business writer who’s delighted business clients as demanding as Warren Buffett. Whether you’re writing business material, blogs, or creative nonfiction, I can help you—as Warren said of me—”turn straight thinking into straight writing.”
(I’m also a Mets fan, but nobody’s perfect.)
What will you get?
That depends on what you want.
- Do you want to prove you can tackle a job with a heavy writing/communications requirement?
- Do you want to enjoy blogging more, so it doesn’t take vital energy away from your other work?
- Do you want to get that story out of your head and onto paper—finally?
What would those things be worth to you?
A graduate-level university writing course would set you back as much as $3,000; I have charged up to $5,000 for other writing programs. I’m not asking anywhere near that for Permission to Write, but I do want you to make a meaningful commitment to doing the work. This private coaching alone would cost over $1,000. But…

Questions?
Q: Will you be offering this program again?
A: Honestly, it’s insane that I’m offering $1,000 worth of private coaching for less than half price. If I do offer the course again, it won’t be until next summer, and your investment will be significantly higher.
Q: We’re traveling this summer. How can I fit this in?
Enjoy! Your trip will give you so much more material to write about. I’ve structured this program to flex around your schedule. Can’t make the opening Zoom call? I’ll send you a recording. And you can schedule your private coaching sessions around your travel.
Q. What if I don’t know what I want to write?
A: Is it possible your mind is telling you that because you don’t want to give yourself permission to write? We can look at that further in our private coaching sessions, and at any other stories you’ve told yourself about writing. Also, I’ll show you the secret to finding ideas everywhere you turn.
Q: I’m not sure I can really commit to this.
A: We’re all busy—families, kids, pets, parents—I get it. But please ask yourself if you’re putting other people’s needs ahead of your own. (Again.) Do they really need you 24/7? Will things fall apart if you take 15 minutes a day to write? You owe it to yourself to make sure you’re not letting fear make this decision.
Q: I’ve tried other online courses before and they haven’t worked that well for me. What makes yours different?
A: Great question. I don’t know who you’ve studied with before, but this is not a bunch of videos; this is live, with group calls and six one-on-one coaching sessions with me. I’ll check in with you periodically to make sure you’re getting what you need to make this program a success. Did the other online courses you’ve tried offer that?
To be clear, this is not a “How to Write” program—although I do offer another program like that. This is a “Get Yourself Writing” program. If you commit to being accountable toward the goals you set for yourself, at the end of the program I think you’ll feel better about yourself and your creativity. You’ll find it easier to write, so you’ll write more often. And when you write more often, your writing improves.
Q: What’s your refund policy?
A: If you’ve made an effort to work the program and you’re not satisfied, I will cheerfully refund your money within the first 30 days—and send you a $10 Starbucks or iTunes card, too. So it’s a “more than your money back” guarantee. You can read more about it here.
