About Us

Elaine Bennett

Principal of Bennett Ink, LLC
“You have a terrific ear and you turn straight thinking into straight writing.”
– Warren Buffett

I had a baptism by fire as a speechwriter. Less than two years after I signed on to write for the CEO of Salomon Brothers, scandal forced the executive to resign. In stepped investor Warren Buffett. I had always wanted to work with him—after all, he’s the best writer in the business world—but I figured it would never happen because, well…Omaha.

Since working with Mr. Buffett, I’ve continued to advise the CEOs of Fortune 100 companies, professional services firms, and leading nonprofits on their communications strategies. I unearth the stories behind business data and help executives shape those stories into memorable messages. I also coach solopreneurs and other individuals looking to develop executive-caliber communication skills.

Passionate about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, I’ve been writing on the subject since it was just called “diversity.” In fact, I won a Cicero Award for the best-written speech on Diversity. I devote a portion of my time to working pro bono with a New York City–based nonprofit that’s determined to transform itself into a role model of antiracism. I also designate a “Nonprofit of the Quarter" to receive a portion of Bennett Ink’s net proceeds. Giving back is important to me—and I hope to you, too.

Born in New Jersey, I graduated from The Brearley School and Smith College. I root for the Mets, but named my dog Fenway. And in case you’re wondering, the Seinfeld character was Elaine Benes.
