Headlines should aim to surprise—or at least, enlighten—the reader. The headline for this list/article (is “listicle” really a word? really?) merely depressed me:
I’m not sure which is worse—that the writer found only 30 examples of this strange phenomenon, or that the website editors believe it is a strange phenomenon.
I mean, not in sitcom-land, but in the real world adults are smarter than kids. Right?
Well, okay, not in the house I grew up in. And maybe not in the penthouse of Trump Tower. But somewhere.
I’m just going to cling to that belief as hard as I can, okay? (Can you tell I don’t have kids?)
